This project was not heavy but encompassed many roof systems (Hip and Valley) with some comprised of Trusses – transitions were dealt with easily with the 3-D modeling using SDS2.

Salvation Army

Quincy, IL - LeJeune Steel

Tonnage - 500 Tons

This project had several challenging aspects to it with multiple trusses, skewed beams and curved areas as well as moment connections. We worked closely with the Fabricators Engineer to ensure all connections were adequate and erectable.

Quincy 10 Story Addition

Quincy, Illinois - Synergy Steel

Tonnage - 900 tons

This project started off as a simple repetitive job but quickly changed after a survey of the existing concrete columns revealed the bay spacing and column locations were not where the customer had anticipated.  This created many different pieces with specialized connections.
After working closely with the Surveyor, Architect and Engineer we got the project flowing smoothly again and successfully completed on schedule.

Elevated platforms with handrail and stairs.

We detailed this project keeping an aggressive schedule with multiple revisions.

Lakeshore Gold Corp. Headframe

Timmins, Ontario - Noront Steel

Tonnage - 272 Tons


This project was for a Gold Mining Company.  The Headframe is used for hoisting (hauling) ore to the surface and transporting miners underground.  There was alot of intricate detailing due to the close proximity of all the members to fit into a very small footprint.  Clash checks with SDS2 were invaluable on this project as we found interferences overlooked by the Structural drawing layouts.
